On June 6, 2025, at 4:45 a.m. Beijing time, China successfully launched the low-orbit 04 group of satellite internet satellites from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center using a Long March 6 modified carrier rocket, and the satellites entered the preset orbit successfully. This launch is the 580th mission of the Long March series of carrier rockets.The low-orbit 04 group of satellite internet satellites belongs to the "Qianfan Constellation" (G60 Starlink). It is China's first low-orbit broadband satellite internet project aimed at meeting the communication needs of the general public. According to the plan, the constellation will complete the networking of about 15,000 satellites by 2030 to achieve global seamless coverage.Before this, on April 29, 2025, at 4:10 a.m. Beijing time, China successfully launched the low-orbit 03 group of satellite internet satellites from the Wenchang Space Launch Site using a Long March 5B carrier rocket/Expedition 2 upper stage, and the satellites entered the preset orbit successfully. This mission is the 573rd flight of the Long March series of carrier rockets. The low-orbit 03 group of satellite internet satellites belongs to the "Guowang (GW) Constellation" built by China Satellite Network Group Co., Ltd. (SatNet).
